Her mother is a real estate broker and a former Broadway dancer and her father is a French man who is an editor for UNICEF. Her mother earned a bachelor's degree in French from Yale and went on to teach both language and dance. Hence why Chalamet is bilingual in both French and English and was a trained dancer for nearly 10 years.

She took dance classes for nearly a decade until a biking accident ended her dancing career.
