The foundation continues the legacy of Howell, even though she passed away in 2018. Who was it founded? Howell: "How many of your wives have daughters? How many have daughters?" I also know that you all have mothers. Q. What services are you offering? Our programs aim to have a long-lasting positive impact on women's health. Scholarships are awarded to graduate and undergraduate students who research women-specific topics. The Howell Foundation has invested more than $800,000. in 280 research scholars over the past 25 years. Q. Women in our community have access to the most recent research so they can make informed decisions and advocate for their health. Q. What is it that makes your organization and/or your non-profit different from other similar nonprofits? A. Women have been underrepresented in medical research for decades. Dr. The Howell scholarship program inspires students and clarifies career goals. It also prepares them for success in graduate school or medical school. Many of our scholars would not be able participate in research without financial support. Q. The lecture series will continue to showcase cutting-edge research. In February, the "Top Ten Issues in Women's Health" lecture will be presented. For more information on this event, and other events throughout the year, please contact us at howellfoundation.org. We have organized over 100 lectures that reached over 9,000 people. But we want to reach more people. We are working closely with our health-care partners in San Diego to offer a fantastic program to the public and patient-facing personnel. Q. The Doris A. Howell Foundation's founding home is La Jolla. Now, we have expanded to include people from all San Diego communities. Spotlight highlights enterprises that support this publication. *
