I graduated this year with a biomedical degree. Although I had always wanted to do something in biology, my original plan was to go into medicine. My degree was not what I wanted. I hated reading articles and had little passion for the subjects I chose. I was also less passionate than my peers. Research internships/labs were always the worst for me. This may sound strange, but it is what I love about my customer service job. I enjoy being active, meeting new people, and talking to other people. My parents want me to work in a more professional job, something that is related to my degree. It's unacceptable that a top 20 university graduate with a high reputation is now working in retail. It's been years of pursuing success and education that I didn't want. However, I would appreciate any advice. I enjoy work that is more hands-on than office stuff, but don't know if this is possible in science.
