James Beard-nominated chef brings taco concept to Green Hills
Taco Bamba, a Mexican restaurant concept by James Beard-nominated chef Victor Albisu, is expanding to Green Hills in late 2023.

Green Hills is getting a Washington, D.C., taco concept from James Beard nominated chef Victor Albisu.
Taco Bamba, founded in 2013, is set to expand to Tennessee in 2023.
Albisu stated in the press release that "on my first visit to Nashville the people, culture and food scene all caught my attention. I knew we needed to bring Taco Bamba into this city and its nearby neighborhoods." The hospitality of this town is evident in everyone, from bartenders and business owners to residents. We can't wait for our fast-casual style to be introduced to Nashville. Hill Center Green Hills is the perfect place for our first Taco Bamba and I believe there will be other opportunities."
The 2,800 square-foot space at 4017 Hillsboro Pike will feature a counter-service taqueria with a fast-casual concept. Menu includes traditional tacos and specialty ones like "One Night in Bangkok", which features seared shrimp, spicy chorizo, mint, basil and chiles, as well as crispy onion.
Menu items include ceviche, nachos (nachos), empanadas, and desserts.
Taco Bamba was founded by Albisu, his stepfather, and mother. It began as a carryout service in Falls Church, Virginia. The taqueria currently has nine locations, and five more will be opened in 2023.
Albisu's experience spans more than 10 years in upscale restaurants, and he has worked across many cuisines. He won the Food Network's "Beat Bobby Flay" show and was nominated as James Beard Foundation Best Chef Mid-Atlantic for 2016 and 2020.
