Routine childhood vaccinations have had a significant impact on preventing illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths, according to a report by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC analyzed the benefits of routine childhood immunizations in the United States through the Vaccines for Children Program. The study found that vaccinations have prevented hundreds of millions of illnesses, tens of millions of hospitalizations, and over 1 million deaths among individuals born between 1994 and 2023. It also resulted in billions of dollars in savings for the country. The research focused on nine vaccines included in the analysis.
