Trader Joe’s has issued a recall for its Infinite Herbs organic basil due to a Salmonella contamination. The product was sold in 2.5-ounce packages in multiple states. The CDC has reported 12 cases of Salmonella infections linked to this product in seven states, with one person hospitalized. Consumers are advised to discard the basil and thoroughly clean any surfaces or items that may have been in contact with it. Investigations are ongoing, and health authorities are working to identify other potentially affected products. Symptoms of Salmonella infection include diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps.
