PRINCIPAL REAL ESTATE INCOME FUND CONTINUES SHARE REPURCHASE PROGRAM

DENVER, December 19, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the Board of Trustees (the “Board”) of Principal Real Estate Income Fund (the “Fund”) announced that it had approved a renewal of its share repurchase program. The share repurchase program allows the Fund to purchase approximately 3.5% of its common shares starting January 21, 2023 and ending January 21, 2024 on the open market.

The Board authorized ALPS Advisors, Inc. ("the Advisor") to purchase the Fund's shares in the open market at a discount to NAV as part of its evaluation of shareholder value options. This will allow the Advisor to benefit remaining shareholders while potentially providing liquidity for trading of fund shares. Both the Advisor and the Board believe that the share-repurchase program can help achieve these goals. The program allows the Fund's shares to be purchased in open market at a discount to NAV. This will allow the Fund to increase its NAV and benefit other shareholders. It also provides liquidity for the trading of fund shares.
